Privacy Policy

When you use a contact, sponsorship, or senior-center inquiry form, we collect your first and last name, email address, an optional phone number, and your message. We use this only to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation. Your message is sent to our staff email inbox and a copy is emailed back to you as a confirmation.

If you sign up for our weekly email digest, we collect your email address and the interests you choose (you may choose more than one). We first send you an email asking you to confirm; you are not subscribed until you click that confirmation link. We record when you signed up and when you confirmed.

After you confirm, we share your email address, your chosen interests, and your consent record with Klaviyo, the email service we use to deliver the digest. Klaviyo stores this information on our behalf and records whether our emails are delivered, opened, and clicked. Klaviyo handles this information under its own privacy notice as well as its agreement with us.

Every digest includes a link to change your interests and a link to unsubscribe at any time. Unsubscribing stops the digest; it does not affect replies to messages you send us.

When you click a link that leaves our site, we record the page you were on, the link you clicked, its title and category, the page that referred you, and your browser type. We use this to understand which resources are useful. We do not attach your name, email address, or an account to this record.

Links in our email digest carry tags that identify the digest, the edition, and the link you clicked. When you arrive on our site from one of those links, we record those tags and the page you landed on so we can measure which stories are useful. We do not attach your name or email address to this record.

We also use Google Analytics, which collects standard usage information such as pages viewed and approximate location. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on.

Our pages also load a script from Klaviyo. It records pages viewed and uses a cookie to recognize your browser on return visits. If you subscribe to our digest or arrive by clicking a link in one of our emails, Klaviyo may connect that browsing activity to your subscriber record.

We use cookies from Google Analytics and Klaviyo, described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Our site links to independent third-party websites, including affiliate partners such as Amazon and Bark. When you follow one of those links, that company may place cookies on your device and collects information under its own privacy policy, not ours.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that operate our website, email delivery (including Klaviyo for the digest), and analytics on our behalf, or when required by law.

Inquiry emails are kept as long as needed to respond and maintain our records. Click records are kept in aggregate for planning purposes. Digest subscriber records are kept while you are subscribed; if you unsubscribe, we keep your email address and unsubscribe date so we do not email you again, and you may ask us to delete it.

Our site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have sent us by writing to bnutting@playitforseniors.org. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and we will honor valid requests.
